Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in a fast-paced working environment. Total Solution Ltd (‘TSL’) is a subsidiary of FPS Food Process Solutions, a global leader in turn-key food freezing and cooling equipment. Together we provide clients with end-to-end solutions. ¬†Based in Australia, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and servicing new and existing accounts to drive sales and increase market penetration. This individual will be responsible for a focused and consistent sales effort and possess the ability to adapt quickly to customer needs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads based on information from advertising enquiries, direct mail responses, trade shows, business directories, internet websites, and other sources
  • Make sales calls to the customer base and have the ability to recognize potential new sales
  • Be able to determine and identify the decision-makers in all sales situations
  • Must be comfortable making ‘cold calls’
  • Meet with clients and potential clients to learn about their objectives and goals and identify opportunities for TSL involvement
  • Work with others to prepare cost estimates and proposals
  • Present to clients and potential clients, emphasizing how TSL can help their business achieve their goals
  • Develop, manage, and nurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals
  • Keep account activities and literature current, accurate, and complete
  • Entry of jobs/projects into the company database
  • Work independently or in conjunction with other team members to:
    • Visit customers to investigate customer enquiries
    • Determine suitable designs and solutions to satisfy a customer’s needs
    • Complete costing, including determining the cost of materials and quantities of labour to effectively execute the solution(s)
    • Prepare and present sales proposals to the customer
    • Provide after-sales support
  • Key account management
  • Complete other duties as necessary

Job Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in business, engineering, or a strong industrial sales background is preferred
  • Possess sales experience of industrial products such as food processing equipment
  • Proven ability to identify new opportunities and convert these to sales
  • Excellent math and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, both at boardroom and workshop levels
  • Travel within Au + NZ and overseas may be required
  • The candidate will display the ability to manage change and the commercial acumen required for company management
