Full-Time Human Resource Generalist

Job Description

Delkor is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The Human Resources Generalist preforms duties at the professional level and supports a variety of department processes, programs, initiatives and projects with a focus on recruiting, benefits administration and LOA administration. The generalist must be sensitive to the needs of the business and capable of relating to individuals at all levels in the company. This individual works collaboratively and cross functionally with other company departments. A strong aptitude for details, the ability to work in a time sensitive environment, and unwavering professional are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Benefits Administration
    • HRIS Management:
      • Input data and ensure the maintenance of integrity of the HRIS.
      • Process documents, forms, surveys and reports related to various benefit plans and employment statistics.
      • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices against HRIS records for accuracy verification.
    • Employee Benefits Administration Program:
      • Evaluate benefit enrollment materials for content, accuracy and ease of use by employees.
      • Drive the timeline for the annual enrollment process including pre-planning, distribution of employee communication materials and scheduling the CER Committee’s annual review of insurance coverage with our broker.
      • Manage the annual benefits open enrollment process including creation of the open enrollment event in the HRIS, tracking of timely completion by employees, coordination of information with insurance carriers, identification of required updates for the Employee Benefits Manual.
      • Ensure that the renewal process is well coordinated, efficient, accurately documented and thoroughly processed, and that all procedures are clearly communicated to employees in a timely manner and with defined timelines/deadlines.
      • Serve as a primary resource for employees with benefit questions.
      • Manage FLMA and non-FMLA leave requests including the tracking of Report of Workability medical status updates and clearance for return to work.
      • Process all short-term disability, long term disability and life insurance claims.
      • Make benefits administration recommendations based on aggregate employee experience trends.
  • Recruitment
    • Administer Talent Acquisition Program:
      • Maintain up-to-date, standardized job descriptions for all positions.
      • Partner with the hiring manager to identify key candidate requirements.
      • Maintain UKG-Pro Gateway module (ATS) and train department managers on its use.
      • Post job opening to Gateway, SharePoint, Bright Sign, company website, job boards, and on social media sites.
      • Communicate with candidates and with the hiring manager, schedule telephone/video interviews/onsite interviews, assist with the development of interview questions, and schedule interview team debrief meetings.
      • Administer candidate pre-employment assessments.
      • Prepare new hire pre-employment paperwork packets.
      • Process required consumer reports, coordinate the creation of electronic payroll and benefits files, upload new hire paperwork into UKG-Pro and complete all new hire checklist items.
      • Oversee the creation and documentation of job specific new hire orientation schedules and onboarding plans; complete a new hire satisfaction survey 90 days after start date.
      • Maintain HR key performance indicator analytics related to recruitment and retention.
      • Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, and college advisory committees to build/enhance core partnership relationships in our industry.
      • Expand the list of targeted partner colleges, technical schools and other educational institutions and develop relationships that will brand Delkor as an “employer of choice” within those establishments.
      • Coordinate and attend college recruiting events including classroom visits, college career fairs and student tours of our facility.
      • Promote our internship and/or apprenticeship programs among students and faculty at our partner schools.
      • Work cross functionally between the Marketing and Human Resources Departments to identify branding opportunities and develop marketing materials for recruitment purposes.
  • Safety Administration Program
    • Process workers compensation claims.
    • Maintain OSHA records, ensuring that they are accurate and comply with all federal and/or state documentation requirements.
    • Schedule annual safety training for employees.
    • Serve as a member of the Safety Committee.
      • Assist with annual National Safety Month activities.
      • Assist with annual NAM Manufacturing Day activities.
  • Serve as a member of the Employee Engagement Team.
  • Serve as a backup for payroll processing and as a resource for employees with payroll questions.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business with an HR focus or in a related field of study.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant human resources work experience.
  • SHRM – PHR certification a plus.
  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive material.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 Products including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint.

Physical Requirements

  • Sit at a desk or in meetings for extended periods including performing extensive computer tasks.
  • Stand and walk for a portion of the day to interact with other employees.
  • Lift 10 – 30 pounds on occasion.
  • Possess arm and hand mobility and strength to lift, hold, reach, carry, push and pull packaging, supplies and other items used by HR.
  • Able to judge distances and space relationships to successfully complete detailed activities to fine tolerances, including reading spreadsheets and other documents.
  • Communicate effectively to give and receive detailed information through verbal and/or non-verbal communication in person or using the telephone; exchange ideas and convey detailed information accurately to customers, co-workers, supervisors, vendors and others inside and outside the company.

Work Environment

  • Approximately eighty-five percent (85%) of the work duties are performed in an office setting, carrying out detail work sitting at a desk and working on the computer.
  • Approximately fifteen percent (15%) of the work is performed on an assembly floor with expose to tools, dirt, dust, chemicals, metals, and plastics, varying temperatures, construction noises and odors from production processes.

  • Use general office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, copiers, e-mail, calculator and other such equipment.
