Full-Time Machinist – Grote Company
Job Description

We are looking for a machinist who can:
- Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, CNC and NC machines and machining centers to fabricate SS and nonmetallic parts
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence operations, and setup requirements
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary to machine parts as required
- Uses measuring devices such as micrometers and veneer calipers
- Uses tooling such as taps, endmills, and drills
- Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Capable of effectively operating both Manual and CNC equipment
- Experience in a Job Shop environment where frequent changeovers are required
- Ability to write programs and/or make complex program edits
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic computer skills including ERP transactional experience
- Trade or Technical School preferred
