Position Summary:
The key function of this position is to resolve and implement solutions to issues on the floor. Will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality and Production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Respond to issues affecting production to keep production running efficiently
- Make updates to MEPD and programs by utilizing CAD and other software
- Execute necessary changes to Manufacturing Engineering or Quality documentation
- Recommend and/or creates new tests, systems and/or procedures
- Designs products, tools, and fixtures (with engineers’ input) and/or makes modifications to existing products and completes or coordinates the completion of all necessary documentation
- Recommend and implement new technologies (hardware, software, equipment, product, processes)
- Recommends and/or creates and executes plans for testing of concepts, design changes or product requirements based on expected results only. Plans will require moderate engineering review
- Analyzes or interprets design or process changes in a complex manner (e.g. DOE, complex tolerance stack-ups design calculations, DFMEA, PFMEA)
- May be involved in the justification of capital equipment
- May be involved with the training of operators, technicians, or engineering co-ops
- Responsible for the guidance and completion of project work with moderate supervision
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
- 2-year associate degree in related field (mechanical engineering technology, CAD or other technical fields) or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of advanced CNC Machining experience
- Proficient user of moderately complex technical tools
- Demonstrates ability to complete major and complex assignments or parts of larger assignments
- Advanced problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Good oral and excellent written communication
- Demonstrates proficient communication, programming and trouble shooting skills
- Strong abilities to use moderately complex technical tools and lab equipment and instrumentation
- Good computer and typical office software skills
Qualifications
Education
Required
High School or better.
Preferred
Associates or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
Required
5 years: Advanced CNC Machining
