Position Scope
FPS is a global leader in turn-key food freezing and cooling equipment serving clients across five continents. Due to our rapid expansion, we are looking for a Project Engineer, SIS to lead the R&D and Special Projects team to conduct product designs for food processing manufacturing systems. The successful candidate must be creative, detail-oriented, goal-oriented, disciplined, and flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Driven by hygienic design concepts to design special FPS R&D projects, components, assembly, and parts (i.e., FPS SIS patented product line)
- Utilize AutoCAD and Inventor for detailed design & modelling to produce manufacturing 2D/3D drawing packages of stainless-steel large-scale food processing industrial appliances
- Liaise between client-facing project managers, field support, shop staff and component suppliers in all facets of project planning, design, procurement, and execution, as required. Negotiate and obtain cross bids from multiple vendors
- Understand the freezer industry to ensure all specifications & functions are met; optimizing cost and the utilization of sheet metal and raw materials as part of the functional design
- Verify the designs meet original design requirements through analysis, design, modification, manufacturing inspection, and testing
- Perform other job duties as assigned
- Visit job sites as and when required
- Work in compliance with all FPS administrative, health & safety policies and procedures
Qualifications & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, fabrication engineering or related discipline
- At least 7 years of supervisory, project design and relevant engineering experience
- EGBC registrant
- Proficient in design and business applications (i.e., AutoCAD, Inventor/Solidworks, MS Office and others)
- Strong presentation and interpersonal English communication & negotiation skills
- Strong working knowledge of the industry/professional journals and government regulations
- Preferred experience in the manufacturing/fabrication industry, thermal and fluid dynamics, control systems, pumps, flow rates, and product development
- Strong analytical mechanical, mathematical, critical, and problem-solving skills
- Creative and innovative; self-motivated and adaptable
- Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team
- Ability to multitask several projects at once, work under pressure to meet deadlines
