Job Description

Summary

The full line solution project manager works with market segment leaders to manage the project scope plans and validate the project scope of work. In this phase, the project manager is also the secondary liaison between customers and Weber’s internal departments from opportunity creation to closure.

In the post-sale phase, the project manager works with the market segment leaders, and all other internal departments to organize, execute, direct, and lead project activities. The Project Manager is the primary liaison between customers and Weber’s internal departments from project initiation to closure and hand-off to the support teams.

Pre-Sale Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality and accuracy of the pricing, contract compliance, equipment specification, and overall scope of work entered for standard configure and build-to-order quotations
  • Provide technical sales support and consulting when required, including equipment selection and configuration, equipment capability, equipment layout/drawings, project feasibility/execution, performance feasibility, testing execution and criteria, risk analysis, contract review
  • Provide on-site sales support as needed
  • Attend customer meetings and demonstrations to capture information critical to include in the scope of work
  • Discuss quotation scope of work documentation and ensure that all the requirements are captured, communicated, and agreed on with customers
  • Assist in maintaining the opportunity record with all required documentation to aid in inter-departmental communication, hand-off, and business continuity

Post-Sale Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor/Control, and Close capital equipment projects in varying scope, complexity, and quantity
  • Direct activities of projects to ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and allowed budget by executing prescribed project management process, including, but not limited to facilitating coordination meetings, running acceptance testing, organizing installation/commissioning plans, managing action register, and follow-up on deliverables, conferring on issue resolutions with internal teams, consulting with customers on project execution, closing and hand-off to continued support
  • Requisition equipment, supplies, materials, and labor from 3rd party vendors, where required
  • Formulate reports and work with other departments to formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, scheduling, etc. where required. Report audience can be management, factory, and/or customer

Additional Duties

  • Initiate and maintain liaison with Customers, Sales Department, Factory, and all internal departments to facilitate project activities
  • Represent Weber, Inc. in customer project-related meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent technical written and verbal skills. German as a second language is preferred
  • Must be able to follow directions and take instructions
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of capital machine projects and knowledge of slicing and/or packaging systems/applications is a plus
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, subordinates, customers, and the general public
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with computers including MS Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. Experience with Salesforce, SAP, and web-based project management platforms is preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electrical engineering preferred) or
  • Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in a related field

Other Requirements

  • Current valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Valid U.S. passport or have the ability to obtain one
  • Must have the ability to frequently travel within North America and Germany

Travel Requirements: 50%
